Sonoma County Focus – Canine Companions

Host Michelle Marques talks with Michelle Williams, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist, Northwest Region for Canine Companions. Canine Companions started in Sonoma County in the 1970s and is now the largest service dog training organization in the country. Dogs are trained basically from birth starting with puppies bred for the right temperament and skills to be effective service dogs to children, adults and veterans. Volunteers act as puppy raisers, getting young puppies ready to enter professional training. Canine Companions provides dogs to clients at no charge, and therefore they rely on donations and volunteers to keep their organization going!
