A routine traffic stop on Highway 101 yesterday led to a firearm arrest.
Around noon on Sunday, a patrol officer pulled over a Toyota sedan for a vehicle code violation while traveling northbound.
During the stop, a passenger admitted to possessing ammunition. This prompted a search of the vehicle, which uncovered a concealed semi-automatic Glock 26 handgun inside a postage box addressed to the driver.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Halton Greenberg of Petaluma, was subsequently arrested. He faces charges including carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. The weapon was reportedly not registered to either occupant.
