MLB Pitcher Teaming Up With Local Foundation

Petaluma native and Miami Marlins pitcher Anthony Bender is using his baseball connections to help kids back home.

Per the Petaluma Argus-Courier, Bender, who played for Casa Grande High School and Santa Rosa Junior College, is currently hosting a raffle for two official baseball gloves, donated by his sponsor, Gloveworks.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Trevor Smith Memorial Foundation, a local nonprofit that provides scholarships and support for Petaluma youth in sports, drama, and other activities. The foundation honors Trevor Smith, who tragically passed away in 2012.

Raffle tickets are available online, with the fundraiser closing at 11 a.m. on December 21st. You can find the links to participate on Bender’s Instagram page.
