Search Warrant Leads To Weapons Bust In Rohnert Park

The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team, along with Gang and Narcotics Detectives, served a search warrant yesterday morning, Wednesday, December 2nd, in the 6600 block of Redwood Drive in Rohnert Park.

The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into illegal weapons possession. During the search, officers detained two Rohnert Park residents: 21-year-old Luis Pelayo Ortega and 22-year-old Nathan Berntsen.

Ortega was found to be in possession of a loaded, concealed, and unregistered 9mm Glock pistol in his waistband, along with extra magazines and ammunition. Berntsen was arrested for possessing metal knuckles. Both men were arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on felony charges related to illegal weapons possession.

The SRPD’s Special Enforcement Team was developed to address the rise in illegal firearm possession and gun violence in the region.
