A Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a serious crash on Santa Rosa Avenue Sunday evening.
The Press Democrat reports the deputy was chasing suspected street racers with lights activated when a Ford Focus pulled directly into their path.
The Ford’s driver, a man in his 80s, suffered major injuries. The deputy and the K-9 in the patrol car sustained minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
