The Sonoma Coast is under a tsunami advisory.
It was triggered by a magnitude 8.8 earthquake in Eastern Russia on Tuesday afternoon. The first tsunami waves were expected to arrive on the North Coast late Tuesday night and early this morning. No major impacts are expected along the Sonoma Coast.
To the north, Humboldt and Del Norte counties are facing a more serious tsunami warning.
