Students at Sonoma State University and all 22 other California State University campuses will see their tuition go up starting next fall. On Wednesday, CSU officials approved a tuition increase, which is the system’s first since 2017. Tuition will go up by six-percent every year for five years, starting in the fall of 2024. The increase is expected to raise $840-million. CSU officials say it’s needed to help bridge a one-and-a-half-billion-dollar budget gap, which has often put employee wage boosts and building renovations on hold. Full-time undergraduate students will start by paying an extra 342 dollars per year.
