Sebastopol Looks at $2.6 Million Budget Deficit

Sebastopol officials are trying to figure out how to fill a multimillion-dollar hole in the city budget. The city is facing a two-point-six-million-dollar deficit, largely because of the loss of federal COVID emergency funds. Sebastopol officials are planning to use reserve money to deal with the budget deficit, for now. There are no imminent plans for service cuts or layoffs. However, they warn that for city services to continue as they are now, residents would have to pass at least one tax measure in the near future.
