A bill improving the oversight of contractors is making its way through Sacramento. SB 630, authored by State Senator Bill Dodd of Napa, has been approved by the state senate and now makes it way to the assembly. The bill would improve oversight and training of California’s nearly 300,000 licensed contractors which include builders, plumbers, electricians and painters. The legislation will also save money for the state by requiring contractors to provide emails addresses so communications can be done electronically and not by mail. The California Contractors State License Board, which regulates contractors, backs the bill.
