Windsor Expected to Meet Over 600 Housing Goal

Windsor is expected to meet its affordable units target in eight years. Windsor will need to develop 607 low- and very low-income united by 2031. That target was set by the Association of Bay Area Governments. During Wednesday’s Town Council meeting, Patrick Streeter, Windsor’s community development director, said they would be able to meet that target. There are 545 affordable housing units in Windsor right now. Windsor currently has 1,864 units on track for development and 284 units are marked for affordable housing. Developers are required to dedicate a portion of units to affordable housing or pay a fee. Windsor fell short of its previous housing goal by 66 affordable units between 2015 and 2022.
